A business proposal can be described as a written offer from a business person to a potential sponsor. A potential client sees a business proposal as a document that can help him or her make an informed choice. On the other hand, to a business person, a business proposal is one of the ways to convince and convert a prospective client.
A good business proposal should put the prospective client/ buyer's requirements in a context that favors the business person/seller's products and services and educates the prospective client/buyer about the business person/seller's capability to satisfy their need.

Types Of Business Proposals
There are 4 types of business proposals and they are:
Internal Business Proposal
These are proposals written by and for someone within the same organization. Since the writer and reader both work in a similar environment, an internal proposal frequently talks about ways to make a situation at work better (productivity, efficiency, profit, etc.).
External Business Proposal
External proposals are delivered to a different entity from the writer's organization (typically to attract business or in response to a request for proposals from another organization). These documents are typically formal because they are external, and a letter of transmittal may be used to introduce them.
Solicited Business Proposal
If an organization identifies a situation it wants to change or an issue it wants to fix, you may prepare a requested proposal. A department or organization may publish a request for proposals (RFP) to solicit ideas for solutions to the problem. The department or organization making the request will assess the proposals and select the most compelling one, frequently using a comprehensive scoring formula or weighted objectives to identify which proposal best satisfies the request and meets the needs of the organization.
Unsolicited Business Proposal
If you notice a problem or a chance to make a positive change, you can write an unsolicited proposal. When submitting unsolicited proposals within an organization, it's crucial to carefully consider your audience to get your ideas in front of the right people, such as a person or group with decision-making authority or a supervisor who can support the proposal and advance it to a higher level of decision-making.
Before submitting an unsolicited proposal, always take into account the situation of your company, internal politics, and the likely reception of your suggestion. Make sure to distinctly establish the need for your organization or intended audience in unsolicited offers from outside your business to persuade them to read and reply. The hardest proposals to get approved are frequently those that come from outside sources without being requested.
