JAMB Declares Registration Dates for 2024 UTME 

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board has announced the exact registration dates for the UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) and DE (Direct Entry). 

According to the board, the registration portal will be open from the 15th of January, 2024 till the 26th of February, 2024. This means that students aspiring to gain admission into the university next year have about 6 weeks to decide and register for the exams. 

JAMB stated that the 2024 UTME differs based on whether candidates choose to take the optional mock exam. Candidates who opt for the mock exam will be charged N7,700, but those who choose not to participate will pay only N6,200. 

Before now, direct entry applicants didn't have to write examinations, now, the system has been reviewed and they have to take cognitive tests aide with other jamb applicants. However, registration for these types of applicants doesn't start until Wednesday, February 28, 2024, and closes on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

For applicants who registered to write the mock exam before the main exam, the board shared that it is scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2024. This mock exam aims to help students assess their readiness and recognize areas needing improvement ahead of the main examination. Furthermore, candidates will be able to obtain and print their examination slips starting from Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Candidates need to take note of these dates earlier so that it can serve as a reminder and help in effective planning for their participation in the examinations. This early awareness ensures adequate preparation and avoids last-minute rush or confusion.
