Communications Manager


Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support the church's mission and objectives.
  • Collaborate with church leadership to identify key messaging and communication priorities.
  • Lead and manage a team of content creators and social media specialists.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative team environment.
  • Oversee the production of high-quality content for various communication channels, including the church website, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Ensure content is consistent, engaging, and aligned with the church's mission and values.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and public relations efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute promotional strategies for church events, including worship services, outreach programs, and special events.
  • Collaborate with event organisers and church leadership to ensure effective communication and publicity.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing communication strategies, preferably in a church or nonprofit setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and inspire a creative team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
  • Proficiency in content creation and management tools, including website management systems and social media platforms.
  • Experience handling media relations and public relations efforts.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including church leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to craft engaging and mission-aligned messaging.
  • Knowledge of branding principles and the ability to maintain a cohesive brand identity across all communication channels.
  • Familiarity with faith-based communication practices is a plus.
