We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Farm Supervisor
Location: Epe, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Farm Operations Management: Oversee daily farm activities, ensuring efficient use of resources, labor, and equipment.
- Crop Management: Supervise crop planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting.
- Livestock Management: (if applicable): Oversee livestock feeding, breeding, health, and welfare.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure farm equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and stored.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and control farm inputs (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.) and outputs (crops, livestock products, etc.).
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision: Lead and supervise farm workers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Safety and Security: Ensure a safe working environment, enforcing safety protocols and reporting incidents.
- Quality Control: Monitor crop and livestock quality, implementing measures to maintain or improve quality.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of farm activities, yields, and finances.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Assist in preparing budgets, monitoring expenses, and optimizing resource allocation.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Pest and Disease Management: Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to minimize crop damage.
- Soil Conservation: Implement conservation practices to protect soil health and prevent erosion.
- Environmental Sustainability: Promote environmentally friendly practices, such as reducing chemical usage and conserving water.
- Community Relations: Foster positive relationships with neighboring communities, addressing concerns and promoting farm activities.
