Job Description
- The Financial Advisor will be responsible for managing the company’s financial planning and strategies, including securing loans for the execution of metering contracts, and ensuring compliance with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) processes for fund repatriation and forex transfers.
- The successful candidate should be proficient in using cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero and have a comprehensive understanding of the Nigerian financial sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and project execution. Analyze financial performance, provide insights, and recommend improvements to ensure profitability and sustainability. Participates in accounts' reconciliation. Creation and enforcement of financial processes.
- Loan Acquisition & Financing: Secure funding for metering contracts through partnerships with banks and other financial institutions. Manage loan applications, negotiate terms, and ensure timely disbursement of funds to support project timelines.
- Cloud-based Financial Reporting: Manage financial reporting and accounting functions using Xero or other cloud-based software. Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, forecasts, and budget reports in compliance with accounting standards.
- CBN Processes & Forex Management: Oversee processes related to foreign exchange (forex) transactions, fund repatriation, and compliance with CBN regulations. Ensure smooth execution of forex transfers and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Cash Flow & Risk Management: Monitor cash flow, manage liquidity, and mitigate financial risks. Develop strategies for optimal capital allocation and risk management to safeguard the company’s financial health.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A professional qualification (ACCA, CFA, or ICAN) is preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience in financial advisory, banking, or corporate finance, with a focus on the energy or infrastructure sectors in Nigeria.
- Proficiency in Xero or other cloud-based accounting and financial reporting software, with a solid understanding of financial management principles.
- Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s financial sector, including experience with securing loans, managing bank relationships, and navigating regulatory processes.
- In-depth understanding of CBN processes related to fund repatriation, foreign exchange (forex) transfers, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with financial institutions, regulators, and internal teams.
