Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management.
  • The Head Chef will ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently, safely, and profitably, while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Planning and Development: Create and implement new menus, specials, and promotions to drive sales and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff to ensure that the kitchen is adequately staffed and that staff are motivated and productive.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensure that the kitchen operates in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations, and that all staff are trained in food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage kitchen budgets, including labor costs, food costs, and overheads, to ensure that the kitchen operates profitably.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive excellent service, and that their expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and flavor.

Requirements

  • Culinary Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality establishment.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, and the ability to implement and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Time Management: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity: Creativity and innovation in menu planning, food presentation, and kitchen operations.

Salary
N300,000 - N500,000 per month.
