Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Staffing:
- Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new staff members.
- Ensure staffing levels align with the school's needs and strategic goals.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for staff concerns, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Address and resolve employee issues in a timely and professional manner.
Performance Management:
- Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to promote staff development and accountability.
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors on performance-related matters.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with Nigerian labor laws and educational regulations.
- Ensure staff adherence to school policies and legal requirements.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs for staff.
- Promote continuous learning and career advancement opportunities.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Manage employee compensation structures, benefits programs, and payroll administration.
- Conduct regular salary reviews to ensure competitiveness and equity.
Health and Safety:
- Oversee workplace health and safety compliance, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Coordinate health initiatives and programs to promote staff well-being.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in HR (e.g., CIPM, CIPD) is an advantage.
- 3-5 years of experience in human resources management, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
