Job Description
Our client operates in the finance sector, providing access to financing, investment opportunities, wealth management and other financial solutions to individuals and SMEs.
Specific Responsibilities
- Participates in the development and implementation of the Human Resource Strategic Plan
- Monitors service levels and quarterly data reports to adjust the human resource plan as required
- Ensures all necessary human resource policies, programs, and procedures are developed and implemented in accordance with best human resources practices
- Serves as a legal resource to the senior management team on human resource issues and initiatives
- Collaborates with other departments to manage legal risk and ensure legal compliance in business activities
- Develops, Implements, and manages an appropriate employee recognition program
- Establishes policies and procedures/mechanisms for performance management; provides consultation and support to managers and supervisors with respect to performance management and staff disciplinary decisions
- Ensures the appropriate maintenance of Human Resources Employee data including the integrity of data in the HRIS/information management systems, in consultation with IT, as appropriate
- Manages relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities
- Ensures consistent application of all compensation and benefits policies and practices across the agency
Requirements
- Bachelor\'s Degree, L.L.B. combined with a minimum of three years’ experience of law practice
- Proven working experience as an HR Manager
- Advanced knowledge of legislation governing human resources and labour relations such as the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, Human Rights Code
- Professional qualifications such as CIPM, SPHRI, CIPD etc
- Two or more years post call-to-bar experience
- Competency in developing learning framework and PM strategies
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
