We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Hours: 6–7-hour shifts within the lounge's operational hours (12 PM–2 AM)

Job Summary

  • The Kitchen Assistant supports the culinary team by performing essential tasks that ensure a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
  • This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and managing kitchen inventory.
  • The ideal candidate should be reliable, hardworking, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients.
  • Ensure prepared ingredients are organized and ready for cooking.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored properly.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Report shortages or expired items to the kitchen supervisor for replenishment.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Follow safety procedures when using kitchen equipment to prevent accidents.
  • Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
  • Assist in unpacking and storing deliveries as needed.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a  Bachelor's Degree / FSLC / HND / NCE / OND or SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with 1 - 3 years of work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
  • Timeliness and accuracy in food preparation tasks.
  • Efficiency in managing kitchen supplies and reporting shortages.
  • Compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

Salary
N70,000 - N100,000 / month.
