Job Title: Logistics Supervisor

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily logistics operations to ensure the smooth functioning of supply chain activities.
  • Manage transportation and delivery schedules to meet customer demands efficiently.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock tracking and timely restocking.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance logistics processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless integration of logistics with overall business operations.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire the logistics team to drive high performance and operational excellence.
  • Address and resolve any logistical issues or discrepancies quickly and effectively.
  • Keep detailed records of logistics activities and generate regular reports for management.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, carriers, and service providers to secure favorable terms.
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for logistics staff.
  • Conduct audits regularly to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technological advancements to continuously improve logistics practices.
  • Oversee logistics budgets and monitor expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Ensure on-time, accurate deliveries to customers while maintaining a high standard of service.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient storage, handling, and distribution of goods.
  • Implement and leverage technological solutions to streamline logistics processes and improve decision-making.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the capabilities of logistics staff.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in managing logistics operations and leading a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Capable of leading and motivating a team to achieve operational goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software, ERP systems, and other related technologies.
  • Experience managing budgets and optimizing cost-efficiency in logistics operations.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying trends and optimizing processes.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers and service providers to secure beneficial contracts.
  • Solid understanding of industry regulations, compliance standards, and safety protocols.
  • Customer-centric mindset, ensuring efficient operations that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • Results-driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to stay current with industry changes and advancements.

Salary
N150,000 per month.
