Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the pasteurization equipment, including heat exchangers, pasteurizers, and associated control systems.
  • Ensure correct settings (temperature, pressure, time) are maintained throughout the pasteurization process.
  • Monitor the beer's pasteurization cycle and make adjustments as needed to ensure proper sterilization while maintaining beer quality.
  • Regularly check and document temperature, pressure, and flow readings to ensure pasteurization parameters are within specifications.
  • Conduct routine sampling and analysis to verify the effectiveness of the pasteurization process.
  • Perform regular checks on pasteurization equipment, making adjustments as necessary to avoid downtime or quality issues.
  • Collaborate with quality control (QC) teams to ensure pasteurized beer meets safety, flavor, and quality standards.
  • Follow company SOPs and quality protocols to minimize the risk of contamination and ensure consistency in the final product.
  • Maintain accurate records of pasteurization cycles, batch production, and equipment maintenance for traceability.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and repairs on pasteurizing equipment and systems as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, and inspecting pasteurization equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for more complex repairs and upgrades.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of materials used in the pasteurization process.
  • Comply with food safety standards, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of all pasteurization processes, equipment performance, and any issues or deviations.
  • Report any process deviations or equipment malfunctions to the Production Manager or Supervisors immediately.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with industry best practices.
  • Provide suggestions for process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and increasing efficiency.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in Brewing Technology, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a brewing, beverage, or food manufacturing environment, with specific experience in pasteurization processes highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of pasteurization and sterilization processes in food and beverage production.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to operate and maintain specialized brewing equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety and quality procedures.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work for long periods in a production environment.
  • Comfortable working with hot equipment and in various temperature conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.


Work Environment:

  • Brewery or manufacturing facility with exposure to hot equipment, strong aromas, and potentially noisy conditions.
  • May require occasional overtime depending on production schedules.
