Job Title: Pizza Chef
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
Pizza Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare pizza dough from scratch or according to company recipes.
- Prepare pizza toppings, sauces, and ingredients.
- Assemble pizzas by applying sauce, cheese, and toppings in the correct proportions.
- Cook pizzas in a high-temperature oven, ensuring they are properly baked and achieve the desired quality.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure perfect pizza quality.
Ingredient Management:
- Ensure the proper storage of ingredients, including refrigeration and shelf management.
- Manage inventory levels of pizza toppings, dough, and other supplies.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including food prep areas and ovens.
Customer Service and Presentation:
- Ensure each pizza is visually appealing, with an even distribution of toppings and a well-baked crust.
- Communicate with kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure orders are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Respond to specific customer preferences or dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).
Quality Control:
- Maintain a high standard of food quality and consistency.
- Ensure pizzas meet both taste and aesthetic standards as per restaurant specifications.
- Conduct taste tests to ensure the flavor and texture of dough, sauces, and toppings are ideal.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.
- Maintain cleanliness of pizza preparation areas and cooking equipment.
- Follow proper hygiene practices and safety protocols when handling kitchen equipment.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff, including prep cooks, dishwashers, and managers, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist in training junior staff or new hires in pizza preparation and cooking methods.
Other Duties:
- Assist in other kitchen tasks as needed, including preparing salads, appetizers, or other items.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, including pizza ovens and prep areas.
Qualification
- 2 - 3 years of work experience.
