Job Title: Security Guard / Gateman

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

• Monitor entry and exit points to the premises, including gates, doors, and parking areas.
• Control access to the premises by checking identification of visitors and verifying their credentials.
• Patrol the premises on foot to deter and detect security threats, unauthorized access, and suspicious activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of the perimeter fence, gates, and other security barriers to ensure they are properly secured.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, and take appropriate action to resolve situations.
• Enforce security protocols and procedures, including visitor registration, vehicle inspections, and parking regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of visitor logs, security incidents, and patrols in accordance with company policies.
• Assist employees, customers, or visitors with inquiries or requests and provide excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with other security personnel and local law enforcement agencies as necessary.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an SSCE / OND / NCE qualification with 3 - 7 years relevant work experience.

Skills:

• Observation Skills: Security/gatemen must have keen observation skills to detect suspicious behavior, identify security risks, and monitor the premises for any unusual activities.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are essential for security/gatemen to interact with colleagues, visitors, and emergency responders. They need to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Physical Fitness: Security/gatemen should possess physical fitness to perform tasks such as patrolling the premises, standing for long periods, and responding quickly to emergencies.
• Conflict Resolution: Security/gatemen should be trained in conflict resolution techniques to handle disputes, de-escalate tense situations, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
• Security Procedures: A solid understanding of security procedures, protocols, and emergency response plans is crucial for security/gatemen to effectively respond to security threats and emergencies.
• Attention to Detail: Security/gatemen must pay close attention to detail to identify potential security breaches, enforce access control policies, and conduct thorough security checks.
