Job Summary

  • Support Tax function in all ‘heads of tax’ for the Group optimising the Group effective tax rates for both direct and indirect taxes while ensuring compliance in all territories operated in. · Provision of timely and accurate decision support to the business with respect to Tax input as applicable to commercial transactions, intra-group activities, acquisitions, business start-ups etc

Job Duties/ Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

Operational Responsibilities

Tax

  • Prepare and review monthly tax returns for accuracy (VAT, WHT and Corporate Income Tax)
  • Estimating and Tracking Tax returns.
  • Organise and update the company’s Tax Database
  • Ensure the timely recoverability of withholding tax certificates
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations
  • Analyze financial data for tax implications
  • Maintain and organize tax documentation
  • Assist in tax audits and provide support to the tax team
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining appropriate policies for operating & managing all ‘tax heads’
  • Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet tax accounts.
  • Monthly review of all ledgers across the Group from a tax perspective and report to the Manager on possible exposures

Education

Qualification:

  • A good degree in Accounting or Finance

Professional Qualification:

  • Accounting qualification (minimum of National Diploma (ND), Tax qualifications will be an added advantage
  • (ICAN or ACCA) minimum of student membership of ICAN or ACCA

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in tax
