Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to transport goods across [region, state, or nationally] for our company. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License), and a strong commitment to safety and punctuality. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for loading and unloading cargo, ensuring the safe delivery of goods, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods to specified destinations.
- Inspect vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in good working condition (checking brakes, lights, tires, etc.).
- Load and unload cargo efficiently and safely.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs of hours worked, routes taken, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors about delivery status and potential delays.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and practices, including wearing safety gear when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the truck.
- Assist in planning delivery routes to optimize efficiency.
- Complete paperwork such as delivery receipts, inspection reports, and vehicle maintenance logs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Drivers License (Class A or B) license.
- Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with 3-6 years of driving experience.
- Clean driving record (no major traffic violations or accidents).
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- SSCE required
- Ability to drive for long hours, including overnight trips.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
