Job Overview

A welder is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal components using various welding techniques.
The role involves interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring welds meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform welding tasks using methods such as MIG, TIG, Stick (Arc), and gas welding.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work specifications.
Operate welding equipment, including torches, grinders, and cutting machines.
Inspect and test welded joints to ensure structural integrity and compliance with specifications.
Prepare metal surfaces by cutting, grinding, or cleaning to ensure proper welds.
Maintain and repair welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to complete projects.
Follow safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a welder or in a similar role.
Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Knowledge of welding tools, materials, and safety equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions (e.g., heights, confined spaces, outdoors).
Welding certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) are preferred.
