We won't Issue  a Degree Certificate in 6 weeks, LASU says

Amidst the certificate racketeering story, a lot more has been going on. A sponsored post has been moving around with names of universities that are likely to issue a certificate to students within 6 weeks without leaving Lagos State University out of it. 

This information, reaching the University, has generated a fast disclaimer where the Lagos State University (LASU) stated that it has nothing to do with the information being circulated. LASU declared it was impossible to earn a degree certificate in 6 weeks and because of this, will not even be a part of such an illegitimate act. 

''The general public is hereby notified that this sponsored post has no direct or indirect affiliation with Lagos State University (LASU). Furthermore, the individual named Njika Johnson Uchechukwu, with the phone number 08034463893, is not a staff member of LASU,” the Coordinator of the Centre for Information and Public Relations at Lagos State University, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, the university said in an official statement. 

The University also stressed that anyone trying to get people to believe this false information is a criminal and should be made to pay for the fraudulent activities. The statement emphasized that trying to obtain a genuine LASU certificate within six weeks is not feasible and would be viewed as both illegal and ineffective. 

Taking proper actions, the university's administration has collaborated with intelligence and law enforcement entities to identify and address individuals accountable for the false post aimed at harming the institution's standing. It is recommended that the public cross-check any university-related information using the official website, www.lasu.edu.ng, or authorized social media channels.
