In 2023, the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon, will launch operations in Nigeria as part of a plan to expand to five more nations in Africa, South America, and Europe. The e-commerce behemoth, which already has operations in 20 countries, will begin doing business in Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Nigeria, and South Africa in April 2023. The e-commerce giant will develop a market place with access to Fulfillment by Amazon in each of the five countries. Although Belgium will be the first country to offer Amazon’s prime membership program. Amazon’s arrival into Nigeria’s e-commerce market will increase competition in the area already dominated by Jumia, Konga, and Jiji. Amazon has a relatively weak footprint in emerging markets like South America and Africa, while having a presence in 20 nations with strong economies. Senior Solutions Architect – West Africa, WWPS – Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Job Summary
- In your role, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services (Amazon EC2 compute, Amazon S3 storage, Amazon Simple DB/RDS databases, Amazon CloudFront CDN, etc.) within large strategic accounts.
- Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, working cross-organizationally to facilitate widespread use and adoption of the AWS platform, and developing deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
- The ideal candidate will possess customer-facing skills that will allow them to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation.

Manager, AWS Solutions Architecture, Startups (Sub Saharan Africa) – Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Job Description
Key Job Responsibilities
- Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects and Solutions Architect managers. First and foremost, you need to be an exceptional builder of great people
- Coach Solutions Architects in acquiring the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many technical sessions so they can transfer deep technical skills to customers who are considering or using AWS
- In partnership with account management and business development teams, formulate and execute a customer-focused strategy to drive adoption of AWS
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community and the startup ecosystem (Meetups, Accelerators, Incubators, VCs)
- Guide and prioritize the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices
- Own the technical strategy that will increase customer value and adoption of well architected AWS solutions across Startup customers.
- Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles
- High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations, with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to match technical solutions to real business problems
- Business english communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with startup or digital native customers
- CTO/co-founder/mentor experience for a VC-backed technology startup company
- Prior working experience as Solution Architect and / or manager of a team of Solutions Architects.
- Previous professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
- Business French communication skills

Enterprise Account Manager – Amazon
Job Description

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Significant account management business development experience in the IT industry.
· A technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS a plus.

Sr Developer Advocate, AWS Developer Relations – AMAZON
Job Description
You don’t just want to be part of an industry movement, you want to be out front leading it.
Key Capabilities:
- As a Builder, you will dive deep to deliver audience-focused technical presentations, and to curate and build actionable technical content. You’ll keep your technical skills updated constantly, always maintaining a baseline understanding of the latest core AWS services, and then adding breadth and depth as required by their specialty or audience needs.
- As a Strategist, you’ll keep the “big picture” in mind and always look for opportunities to maximize customer value, constantly driving efficiencies on processes and mechanisms.
- As a Teacher, you’ll provide technical guidance for Builders to be successful with the cloud, simplifying the complex and tailoring your message to the needs of the audience.
- As an Ambassador, you’ll build long-term relationships with Builders and their communities, feeding back insights to help shape AWS go-to-market strategy, programs and products. You’ll also identify and develop external AWS advocates, helping to scale our programs.
- As an Influencer, you’ll use your unique personality and authentic content to help attract Builders to AWS and keep them engaged and inspired to Build.
Key job responsibilities
- Gaining industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee and speaker at AWS and third party technology conferences, shows and press events.
- Curating, developing and delivering compelling presentations, sample solutions, and discussions to help drive awareness and adoption of AWS services.
- Collaborating with internal teams to define program initiatives for technical audiences, market positioning, gathering customer feedback, and nurturing and growing technical communities.
- Creating and maintaining relevant content (demos, videos, blogs, screencasts, books, and other mediums), covering AWS services along with emerging technologies and industry developments.
- Maintaining a strong and credible presence in social media channels relevant to technical audiences.
- Working with your worldwide counterparts to share best practices and help build a best-in-the-industry developer relations organization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of hands-on technical experience with cloud computing infrastructure, application development platforms and popular programming languages, operations and/or security
- 2+ years in a customer facing role or a role which involved public speaking
- Superior oral and written communication skills in English
- Outstanding public speaking, content creation, and presentation skills (in person and online), and experience working with technical communities.
- Willingness to travel and ability to work autonomously
- Able to work in a diverse team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Significant experience in IT Infrastructure and/or software development, with special emphasis in areas of Compute, Storage, Databases, Networking, Application Services, Machine Learning, Big Data and/or distributed computing
- Practical experience in cloud computing, architecture, systems or application design, development or operations. Existing knowledge of the AWS platform a bonus.
- Working knowledge and experience with social/online marketing coupled with prior experience in product definition, bring-to-market strategies and/or setting an industry standard.
- A history of successful speaking engagements, online content creation, industry influence, and/or recognition in technology publications is preferred.
- Success in nurturing, engaging with, and growing large technical communities
- While not a requirement, oral and written communication skills in French are an added value
