Job Details
Objectives of this Role
● Oversee strategic business initiatives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of senior leadership and department heads
● Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
● Review, design, and execute improvements to organizational structure; find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them
● Improve current processes and optimize organisational procedures for efficiency and productivity
● As the chief of staff, the planning and implementation of all your Job Responsibilities and all other incidental duties including decisions relating to Ouranos Lab in the course of your employment shall at all times be subject to the prior approval of the reporting Manager, the CIO, COO or MD.
Job Responsibilities
● Conduct thorough risk assessments and analyses of potential investments and projects, utilizing data-driven and qualitative methodologies to inform recommendations.
● Collaborate with team members to design and conduct primary and secondary research studies, analyze findings, and present actionable insights to senior leaders and stakeholders.
● Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects on behalf of the management team.
● Develop and manage project plans and timelines for new product development initiatives, ensuring all team members are aligned and accountable for deliverables.
● Lead cross-functional teams through the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring all milestones and metrics are met on time and within budget.
● Create and maintain detailed product roadmaps, outlining key features and timelines, while managing competing priorities, and driving consensus across teams.
● Act as an extension of the CIO, filtering and facilitating information between internal and external stakeholders. It could also mean reviewing all incoming requests for the CIO's time and aligning the executive's calendar with the priorities of Ouranos Lab.
● Manage key relationships with stakeholders, investors, and clients, and track progress toward nurturing these relationships.
● Promote cross-functional communication and collaboration among team members.
● Follow up with the Lab to identify obstacles to achieving goals and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
● Provide analysis, recommendations, and options to the CIO regarding high-impact decisions.
● Identify and help solve core problems or opportunities within business processes.
● Provide insight and analysis of the company's operations to senior leaders.
● Determine key performance indicators and measure team performance.
● Lead and support special projects and business initiatives from ideation to implementation.
● Oversee successful delivery of technology solutions and ensure timely, cost-effective contract renewals or negotiations.
● Perform any other responsibilities assigned to the role.
Key Result Areas
● Strategic Planning & Communication – Effective coordination, and leadership of Shekel Africa’s strategic planning activities and processes. Effective communication of agreed corporate strategy to the entire workforce.
● Strategy Evaluation – effective selection and appropriateness of strategy based on sound evaluation principles.
● Execution, Monitoring, and Evaluation – consistent implementation of organizational objectives and periodic measurement of results, all within budget and on time. Cost savings is an advantage.
● Number of successfully implemented growth and expansion programs, (new/renewed projects, products & services)
● The number of new businesses/competitive bids won and revenue generated.
Skills and Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree
• One to three years prior experience in supporting a senior executive or team
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Time-management skills
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Organization skills
• Ability to multitask
• Basic understanding of frequently used computer software and programs, such as Microsoft Office
• Interpersonal skills
